Looks like I may actually be on to something and one of my crazy habits makes sense!

The idea is to have your sweet treat in the morning when your metabolism is high and you’ve got the whole day ahead of you to burn it off. It can also be psychologically gratifying to satisfy your craving for something sweet so that you don’t obsess over it all day and binge later. Just look at the amazing results in the study. This may be one of the secrets to keeping your weight in control over the long-term (at least I am hoping!)
While I would never recommend your regular old conventional chocolate cake for breakfast (or otherwise), I see nothing wrong with having something sweet made with healthful ingredients to start off your day if you crave it. Personally, I do crave sweet in the morning most days. And often chocolate! I make sure to have my wholesome healthy foods like fresh fruits, oats and nuts or peanut butter– with the addition of a couple of squares of dark chocolate or a small piece of a raw dessert. I never felt guilty about that but to be honest, I did feel like it was a tad weird. Not so much anymore!
